You can use AdGuard dns servers to block adds. In case you were looking for a solution now It was on Netgear r7000p don't remember if it was kong or bs I don't know how or why it works but it has worked for me. He curates other lists.(in effort to make sure things aren't broken when browsing) I didn't use the listed host files though. I used the second script here(firewall script)

Maybe it would be more efficient to build some sort of Addon platform inside DD-WRT firmware, that only needs to be build one time and can be used in the future to install ADD-ONS by just point and click to install it. Maybe creating a addon in DD-WRT build from the ground up (based on the Ublock technology). However, we could use a Patreon or Kickstarter page to start and sponsor a external new project maybe? Even if i want to join the development team their is nothing i can offer.
Sadly am not a programmer, am actually a graphic designer and that's all.

In openwrt this also requires a few manual steps like customizing config and creating certs + you have to distribute your custom root ca to the client. I used to include such a thing in my IPQ build, but it was not fully finished and required manual work, now that I switched my main router to openwrt I removed it from my dd-wrt builds. For https it can only filter it if the url is blacklisted. Like if you use a (FREE) app on your iphone/ipad, you wont see ADD's anymore.įor non https privoxy already deos that. So if i understand this correctly, this is to complex and time consuming to make this work? The part about "Its only a browser extension only", well is it possible to rebuid it then?ĭD-WRT & Ublock-Origin are both open source, so would that not make is easier? Problem is that i don't understand whats in that code, if i use it i still need to modify the add-block lists.
